Meet the Artists

Lisa Alt

• Studied design at the Maryland School of Art and Design and graduated in 1980.
• Moved to New York in 1981 to study at the School of Visual Arts.
• Free-lanced in the graphic design field.
• Worked for Craz-Dunahay from 1983-1985, helping to produce high-end furniture and cabinetry.
• Formed her own woodworking business in 1985.
• Moved her family and business to upstate NY in 2000.
• Became business partners with David Zawistowski in 2006 and founded Duet Fine Wood Work, LLC.

David Zawistowski

• Left the corporate world in 2001 to start New Image Woodwork
• Started designing built-ins and studio furniture.
• Became a member of the Furniture Society in 2002
• Became business partner with Lisa Alt in 2006 and became Duet Fine Wood Work, LLC.
  
  Juried shows:
  Guildford Handcraft Center: Studio Furniture Show March, 2004
  A juried exhibition focusing on innovative techniques and use of materials. One of 22 artists selected and was Awarded 3rd Place.

  The Furniture Society’s 8th Annual Conference Curv-i-ture Show, June, 2004.
  An exhibition centering on “la belle curve” in studio furniture. One of 32 artists selected from a field of 476 entries.
